What are Lab Grown CVD Diamonds?
Lab grown diamonds are a new source of diamonds grown above earth. They have identical chemical, physical, and optical properties as diamonds from mines (mined diamonds). Lab grown diamonds and mined diamonds are the same material, Carbon (C), with the only point of difference being their origin.
Diamonds are formed when carbon atoms crystallize into cubic structures with tetrahedral bonds, making it the hardest substance on earth. The Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) process is used to control the diamond growth, atom by atom, to the highest purity. High-quality single crystal diamond growth can occur only when a ‘diamond seed’ is present. A diamond seed is a very thin slice of diamond on which carbon atoms deposit to form strong tetrahedral structure and grows into a larger rough diamond.
Led by some of the industry's foremost experts, WD Lab Grown Diamonds uses a unique mix of technology and talent to create high-quality diamonds that are especially brilliant and beautiful.
In 2017, WD Lab Grown diamonds successfully grew the largest known CVD diamond as well as the largest known round CVD diamond.
WD Lab Grown Diamonds guarantees the highest quality and greatest value in the market, as certified by the International Gemological Institute (IGI), one of the most trusted diamond grading laboratories in the world.
Your confidence can be assured, as WD Lab Grown Diamonds provides an IGI Diamond Report certificate and proudly laser inscribes the certificate number on the girdles of all our lab grown stones.
